Tammy Ford Roeder fighting Lymphoma/Cancer

(by Cheryl Mallonee & Traci (Younger) Bergerson)

On April 16, 2016 Tammy was diagnosed with Lymphoma.  After several tests, it has been determined that she has Non-Hodgkin (malignant) Lymphoma B cell.  The prognosis and stage of this cancer is yet to be determined (awaiting results of more recent testing).

For those of you that have known Tammy for many years like we have, you all know how loving, upbeat, positive, fun and dedicated she is to her family and friends.  We have had the privilege of being friends with Tammy for over 37 years now, so she is like family to us as well.

Tammy is the kind of person that would to whatever she could to help a friend or family member in need.  She is a devoted and loving mother of 4 children, and grandchildren as well.  She is a loyal sister and daughter, as well as an aunt and cousin to many people in her family.  If you’ve had the privilege of meeting the Ford family (and extended family), you would know how loving and amazing their entire family is, and the bond that they share is so strong & close knit, there is nothing that can tear this family apart.

Shortly after finishing High School, Tammy became employed with the Oregon City School District, and has been working with students for well over 20 years now.  She specializes in the work with autistic students, and has been a successful, hardworking and dedicated instructor to many students for the last 20 + years.

This is our chance to give as much help/support as possible to Tammy & her family to help fight this battle with Lymphoma.  She is scheduled to go through many treatments of radiation & chemotherapy to help shrink the malignant mass that has surrounded her heart, lungs, and esophagus.  Surgery is very risky, so the anticipated medical plan will be extended treatments to help fight the cancer, and slow down/shrink the cancerous growth around her vital organs.

In addition to all of this, Scott Roeder, Tammy’s husband just recently finished battling several medical issues.  And as a result, he was out of work for quite a while.  So now, since Tammy has been diagnosed with Lymphoma, the Roeder family will be facing ongoing financial challenges.

I think we are all aware of how costly medical coverage and extended hospital stays really are, so any amount that you can donate towards Tammy’s fight with cancer would be greatly appreciated.  I have no doubt if this was happening to any of us, Tammy would go the extra mile to help in any way possible.  The power of prayer, love and support of family and friends can have amazing results!  In addition, it will give her the added strength that she needs during this critical time. Let’s ALL stand beside her and help Tammy conquer this battle against lymphoma.
