Since opening in 2014, our mission has always been to help girls and boys in underserved communities experience the sport of gymnastics at an affordable rate. We also strive to instill values in the children of the communities in which we serve. By allowing our top pupils to travel and compete, we are able to teach the values of perseverance and hard work. This hard work and effort paid off when our program was selected by the first African American Gymnast to receive a gold medal in the all around at the Olympic Games. Our staff and gymnasts were recently surprised by Gabby Douglas on CBS's Celebrity Undercover Boss.  Thanks to her national recognition we have been contacted by an elite group of trainers who would like to provide their services at a rate of 60% off. We are asking for donations, to bring these trainers to our gym for a 3 day intensive training camp for our girls from November 30th - December 2nd. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for both our gymnasts and staff to learn from some of the best our industry has to offer. With your help, we will be able to offer this camp to our entire gymnastics team at no cost. Our goal is to raise $6000.  Donating is easy as giving up your Starbucks for the day:)

At the end of the day, doesn't every kid deserve a chance at success?

What is Stonecrest School of Gymnastics?

Stonecrest Gymnastics (formerly Zero Gravity Gymnastics) opened its doors in June of 2013 with a goal to provide both affordable and quality gymnastics training to students in an underserved community.  We began our first year with only 20 pupils at the school, but it soon grew to something we could have only dreamed of.  After months of training and fundraising, our directors were able to begin our very first competition squad. By January 2014, our team had won 2nd place at their first ever competition.

By May of the same year, we brought home our very own State Champion who was only 7 yrs old!

Additionally, we have managed to add more programs, and provide better equipment for our students. Stonecrest Gymnastics is now home to 30 competitive gymnasts and 150 recreational students, many of whom are now State and/or Regional Champions.

How did Stonecrest Gymnastics start?

Stonecrest Gymnastics was founded by Shadae Crawford, a former gymnast and college cheerleader who had coached at risk youth for more than half of her life. During many of her training sessions, she met young children who had great talent, but due to finances were forced out of the sport. Because of this, she made a promise to provide gymnastics training to all children, whether their families could afford it or not.  In June of 2013 - 3 months after their wedding-   Coach Shadae and her husband Gavilan made good on their word and opened the doors of Stonecrest Gymnastics to all children.

What has  Stonecrest Gymnastics achieved do far?

Since opening our doors in 2013,  Stonecrest gymnastics has provided low cost gymnastics and dance training, free meals, no cost field trips, and low cost transportation services to hundreds of children. We have more than doubled the square footage of our facility and added multiple Olympic level training apparatus. Coach Shadae and Gavilan also provide full scholarships to students in need on a yearly basis and were recently honored on CBS's Undercover Boss for their contributions to their community.   Also, since it's inception in 2014, our Gems Competition Team has produced 6 State Champions, 5 Regional Champions and 2 National Champions.

Who funds Stonecrest Gymnastics?

Stonecrest Gymnastics Academy relies on tuition fees paid by our families. On average, we charge a third of the national average for gymnastics programs. All money raised from tuition fees goes directly towards paying instructors wages and educational materials. To keep our costs low, the teachers and directors at Stonecrest Gymnastics are paid very low wages. Many staff members also volunteer their time to ensure their students receive gymnastics lessons.

Occasionally we are blessed enough to receive generous donations of food, materials, supplies and even sometimes cash from visitors.  For example Coach Gavilan and many of our Gym dads have done some excellent work at the school, such as tearing down walls, repairing and painting our transport vehicles and adding new training spaces.

Thanks to our awesome community and Coach Gavilan, we were able to transform our old vans from this...…………..

I'd love to help, but how will my money be spent?

Due to the high cost of gymnastics, many of our team gymnasts are unable to reach their full potential in the sport. We would like to provide our girls with the same learning opportunities as any other gymnast in the US, no matter where they are from or how much money their families earn. Our dream has always been to provide high quality training and make it available to all children, no matter the cost. Your generous donations, no matter how big or small will provide us with the opportunity to bring in former Olympians as well as National Gymnastics Judges who will work with our students in a 3 day Gymnastics Intensive Camp.  We are looking to raise a total of $6000 total. This fee covers:

-A full 3 Day camp for all 30 of our competitive gymnasts. This Camp will be led by 3 former Olympians
-Uniforms for all gymnasts.
-Hotel stay, meals, and travel costs for Olympic Coaches and National Judges (they are willing to come to us to keep costs low)
- Choreography for all events
-Dance and Artistry Intensive Clinics
- A mock competition in which our girls will be critiqued by a National Judge

Donations over $150 will receive an autographed photo of our teams, and an invitation to visit our school in Stonecrest for a special 'Thank You' Gala.

Our girls and staff have had so much success with limited resources. Imagine what they could achieve with the help from some of the best in our industry! Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution today. Thank you in advance for your support.
