Hello friends of Meg,
We're creating this GoFundMe site to help our dear friend, Meg Fox.
As many of you know, Meg's former partner Kate has recently challenged Meg's 50/50 role as mom to their 16-year-old son, Miller, and in doing so, upended their decade-long arrangement as divorced but communicative co-parents. The dispute has brought them through a painful mediation, the results of which have been pretty devastating. So far, by putting Miller's needs first and her own a distant second, Meg has been screwed: she currently sees Miller just twice a month and has been cut off from communication with teachers, counselors, and doctors.
The upshot of this is that Meg is in danger of losing her connection with Miller.
We have set up this GoFundMe because we want to ensure that Meg gets competent legal advice before signing a parenting plan. We have recommended that she use the firm, Skellenger Bender, which has deep expertise in family law. Their expertise means they are both very good and very expensive.
Skellenger Bender requires its clients to pay a $7,500 retainer. Mego is a beloved and generous educator, artist, friend, small-nutjob-dog-protector, and mom. And, none of those roles can afford an attorney. Our hope is that amongst this amazing group of Meg's friends we can collectively raise the $7,500 she needs to get sound advice in this unfortunate fight.
Our target is to raise the funds quickly--by January 15, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Please give what you can, and thank you in advance.
