Hi, my name is Maile I am 15 years old. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old and have a passion for this sport. I have never stopped loving the sport and the friendships that came along with playing. I am now a freshman in high school and am playing for both my high school and travel soccer club, FC United. I have been playing for FC United for 3 years and I am fortunate enough to qualify for a tuition scholarship that covers the club’s tuition. However the select team I’m on has started to travel to elite tournaments and college showcases all over the US and the travel expenses to make this happen quickly add up beyond our means.
My parents have sacrificed so many things for me to be able to continue playing soccer and now that I am old enough, I want to take that burden away from them and relieve the stress on our family. It’s time I take initiative and reach out for help. I’m a goalkeeper and I have several important tournaments coming up and we just don't have the funds to pay for airfare and hotel. It’s a hard reality, especially with aspirations of playing in college, that money comes in the way of playing the sport I love, but it does. I need to go to these tournaments for two reasons: 1). To help carry my team to the top, as I would never want to miss a game and let them down. 2). To be seen by the college coaches for a potential college scholarship, as it is my goal to play in college.
After talking with our team managers, we have calculated that for my next year with FC United at the U16 Select level, my travel expenses to cover all tournaments will be $5,450. Our schedule includes regional playoffs in Ohio, Surf Cup in San Diego, CASL in Raleigh NC, Disney Showcase in Orlando and PC Cup in PDT in Phoenix AZ as well as travel to our regional MRL games.
Please help me reach my goal and make my dream come true. I will update my site as we go through our schedule and share my team’s success and my favorite personal stories. Thank you for caring - Every little bit will get me that much closer to making my dream become a reality!

She loves to set goals and then do whatever it takes to achieve them. Given her outstanding skills, athleticism and strong work ethic, Maile clearly has the potential to play college soccer. But, she is going to need a little bit of assistance. I hope everyone reading this will pitch-in to help this most deserving young athlete."
