Latest update: July 9th 2018 We will continue to keep this gofundme account open a little longer for anyone wanting to help our family or the farm during this time of grief. http://m.legacy.com/obituaries/gadsdentimes/obituary.aspx?n=&pid=189593440&referrer=0&preview=True There will be a memorial service Saturday, July 21, at Catalyst Community Church. 1707 Reid Circle, Gadsden AL 35903, at 2pm. For anyone who knew the amazing man Lee Cox, we are celebrating his life and you are welcome to bring any memories to share. Please keep my family in your prayers as we face this next chapter. John 13:7 “Jesus replied, ‘You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." Our Story We’ve always been a close-knit family. The five of us were raised to appreciate the warmth of a crackling fire my Dad would make on cold Alabama nights. Lesley loved his special spaghetti he would make, and she’d eat it every day if she could. Ashley will never forget when Dad surprised her with a beautiful horse on her 13th birthday. When Emily and her father sang a Nat King Cole duet in the local community theater, it was truly “Unforgettable”. Dad taught Georgialee how to drive a stick-shift in her first car, an old Toyota pick-up. And, the only son, Levi. Dad still proudly displays the Game Ball on his dresser that Levi won for catching the winning out in a close Little League game. When Dad shared the news about his stage 4 cancer, it was surely a shock to us. He never took any meds and always got a clean bill of health from the doctor. But, now, a new journey is before our family. So, us kids are reaching out to his friends, neighbors, co-workers, and you to seek your help. Dad’s cancer is in his throat, near his vocal chords. He has a tumor in his lymph node and an aggressive lesion in his shoulder. Although in constant pain, he still keeps his sense of humor. Our Dad has already amassed significant medical bills from body scans, biopsies, and hospital visits. The doctors have sent him home with no hope for any kind of traditional treatments to help his illness. So, after much research and on our knees asking God’s leading, Dad is scheduled for treatment at a cancer clinic far away. Insurance will not cover the costs due to the treatments being non-conventional.  Our goal is to help raise the necessary funds to make his trip and treatments possible. Please, if you can support us in any way, we would be forever grateful. He means the world to us. Thank you, Lesley, Levi, Ashley, Emily, and Georgialee
