Landon

My sweet nephew, Landon, has been very sick.  On November 3, Landon was trasmitted by ambulance to the ER at Cabell Huntington.  He was admitted into the Pediatric ICU with double pnemonia.  He finally got released from the hospital on November 5th.  However, he didn't do so well and was sick yet again on November 11th.  He was admitted back to the Cabell Huntington PICU on November 12th. Since then, he has struggled.  He had a set back with his double pnemonia being worse and his left lung almost collapsed.  He was also diagnosed with the respiratory virus-coronavirus.  Landon was in the early stages of being septic.  His white platelets count is extremely low, along with his blood being too thin.  Landon's liver enzymes are too high and his infection numbers in his blood have risen again.  The doctors are still running tests to find out what is causing all of these health issues.  They are in communication with his doctors at Cincinnati's Childrens Hospital and he could possible be transferred there.  Today, Landon is still not able to hold oxygen on his own and fluid is building on his lungs.  Due to Landon's condition and some medical treatment that is needed, he will be in the hospital for several days to come.

As most know, having to stay in the hospital can be mentally, phsyically and financially demanding.  My brother and sister in law are exhausted, to say the least.  With this being Landon's third hospital stay in less than 2 months and the hospital being over 50 miles from their home, it's starting to be very demaning of them.  They have two kids at home (one handicapped like Landon).  So they have been taking turns staying at the hospital and going back home to care for their other children.  That trip every day, is not cheap.  Not to mention, if Landon is transferred to Cincinnati, this will be over 130 miles from their home.

If anyone can find it in their heart to help them out durign this difficult time, I know they would truly appreciate it.  More than anything, PRAYERS is greatly needed for Landon's recovery!
