Kat's Tribute to Life Tour

Hello, fans and friends! As many of you know, I held a "Tribute to Life" concert in Asheville earlier this year as a kind of musical celebration of my personal story, and a thank-you to all who helped bring me to today's place of joy.

It was a bit scary to share openly so much of my rocky personal journey. But I was overwhelmed and blessed by your outpouring of love and support, and with your continued support I want to send my message to everyone possible, about overcoming obstacles with compassion, love and the power of hope.

It's been more than ten years since I began singing jazz and blues in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. I have opened my heart, and with the gift of my voice I have had the honor of helping raise funds at events for many wonderful organizations, including the United Way, Make a Wish Foundation, MANNA Food Bank, HelpMate, the Paint-the-Town Pink (Breast Cancer Campaign), Little Pearls, Mission Hospital, Caring for Children, and Mother Bear, to name a few.

And now, I'm reaching out to the greater community to ask for your help in realizing my dream to produce a new album and go on tour, to help spark others' dreams and inspire hope in those who have little.

My mission in life is to serve and uplift those who have experienced the darkest moments of life. My own story as an orphan; a victim of abuse, prejudice and poverty in the streets; and homelessness could have had a very different outcome. But because of the special love of my foster mother, family and a wide circle of friends, my story became one of light and triumph in the face of the worst circumstances.

My new album will vocalize this hope and how each of us can achieve our dreams with love, friendship, community and the power of hope. In my Tribute to Life tour, I will travel across the Southeast to share my story of overcoming obstacles, with communities from all walks of life.

The funding will be used for the production of my New CD (recording, mixing and duplication), The Tribute to Life DVD (post production, editing and duplications), Tour promotional materials (Tour van, concert posters, etc.), Professional Publicist.
