Help Jimmy

Three years ago, Jimmy came to the UK to compete in the Commonwealth Games. Whilst here, he learned that his closest family members including his adoptive mother and aunties, had all died of Ebola. Jimmy lost his birth parents during the Sierra Leone civil war so to lose his second family was extra devastating. He has been in the UK ever since.

Fast forward three years and Jimmy has finally been granted leave to remain. A small pot of money raised in 2015 contributed to his legal fees and cost of living but that pot is now empty. Whilst entitled to claim state benefits, Jimmy is not keen to take this route and instead, he is hoping to go to university to obtain a degree in computer science and seek out an apprenticeship. He has a provisional offer from University of East London and potentially a scholarship, but the amount is not confirmed nor are we clear what contribution this will make towards his living costs.

He would be immensely appreciative of any help you can offer to help fund this next phase of his life, to give him the education and opportunities he needs to become self-sufficient.

Of course, he continues to run and inspire all of us who have learned about his journey.
