Jerome Golmard the former Davis Cup tennis player from France and former no 22 ATP singles has been diagnosed with the Lou Gehrig's disease (ASL) in January 2014.

Since the 14th of January the disease has developed rapidly affecting the lower limbs (this is the same disease that Brad Drewett, the former deceased CEO of the ATP contracted).
Since the diagnostic (14th of January) Jerome has lost the use of both of his legs. He is now on a wheel chair.
The French traditional Medicine world has condemned him.
Possible Cause of the disease:
Jerome identified the source of the disease and the first symptoms which started shortly after undergoing 3 teeth removal in September 2013. This dental surgery seems to have been the trigger of the disease and made him start to experience issues affecting the use of his left leg.
Hope? Possible therapies:
Because traditional medicine can't help him, Jerome has started to look into other ways and is under various therapies and treatments at present.
One of the focus for Jerome is to reduce the infection caused by 14 infectious areas all located in is jaw, beneath his teeth and within the bone of his jaw. This seems to be at the source which triggered the disease.
One surgery was performed but Jerome will need to go through 3 more surgeries to stop the infection to spread in his body.
Other treatments and therapies will be then started.
So even if slim, there is a chance and Jerome is fighting hard to find a solution in possibly new therapies.
With his family:
Jerome is at present resting in Dijon (France) within the close vicinity of his family. He has 2 young boys of ages 11 and 12 who are living in the South of France located about 3 to 4 hours away from Dijon.
Seeing his children is now getting more challenging since he has now limited movement possibility.
What are the ways to Help Jerome:
1. Finding more information and possible treatments solutions among our networks.
2. Communicate and send him support messages to tell him that the tennis community is behind him.
3. Provide a financial support to cover the costs of his surgeries, medical bills from an alternative parallel medicine.
Therapy and Surgery Not Reimbursed by the Insurances:
This funding campaign "Support Jerome with a donation" initiative comes from his very close players friends and tennis family. Jerome has never asked us to raise money for him but he did ask us to find possible therapies and treatments. We are his friends and even if Jerome made some substantial money in his years as a player, we all want to make sure that because of the high costs of surgeries and therapies undertaken which are not reimbursed by any insurance, that he gets all the necessary funding right from the star without needing to worry at any point.
We want him to stay totally and fully focused on beating the disease. All his close friends in the tennis family are already contributing to this effort and together if we donate what we can, we can provide the necessary funding which could help Jerome win his fight.
Fight against ALS:
Jerome insists that the funds received will go in trying out nontraditional parallel therapies hoping to find solutions to this disease with the hope that these treatments will help others in the future.
Jerome also intends to use his high profile image to raise awareness about the subject and to provide some funding to fuel the research efforts about this terrible disease.

Jérôme Golmard l'ancien joueur de l'équipe de France de Coupe Davis et ex No 22 en simple au classement de L'ATP Tour est atteint de la maladie de Charcot (SLA).
La maladie a été diagnostiquée le 14 janvier. (Il s'agit de la même maladie qui a touché le défunt CEO de l'ATP Brad Drewett décédé l'année dernière).
Depuis le 14 janvier la maladie s'est rapidement propagée sur le bas du corps de Jérôme qui a perdu 8 kilos et qui a perdu l'usage de ses jambes. Jérôme se retrouve dépendant dans un fauteuil roulant.
La médecine traditionnelle est impuissante contre cette maladie.
Cause Potentielle :
Les premiers symptômes se sont déclarés à la suite de l'arrachement de dents de sagesses qui semble avoir une relation avec le début des symptômes. La maladie s'est ensuite propagée à grande vitesse.
Possible Espoir :
Comme la médecine traditionnelle n'offre aucune solution, Jérôme s'est orienté vers des thérapies parallèles. Un premier effort se porte sur la réduction d'une infection généralisée ayant pour source 14 foyers infectieux situés dans l'os de sa mâchoire afin de stopper la prolifération de l'infection dans le corps de Jérôme.
4 opérations chirurgicales seront nécessaires pour solutionner ce premier problème.

3. Lui apporter notre soutien financier afin de l'aider pour faire face aux couts des opérations et suivi médical non remboursés par la sécurité sociale Française (médecine alternative paramédicale).

Cette campagne de soutien et plateforme de donation est à l'initiative de ses très proches amis joueurs et famille du tennis. Jérôme n'a jamais demandé de recevoir de donations. Mais comme les opérations et thérapies parallèles que Jérôme est en train de suivre ne sont pas remboursées, nous cherchons à mettre en place dès le début une manne financière suffisante afin que les fonds ne viennent pas à manquer à un moment ou les couts des opérations et thérapies nécessaires atteindront des montants qu'il ne pourra plus financer seul malgré tout l'argent qu'il a gagné dans sa carrière de joueur. Il nous a donc paru important en tant que ses amis proches du tennis de mettre en place cette plateforme de soutien et de dons spontanée qui contribuera à l'aider au moment opportun.
Jérôme et sa lutte face à la maladie SLA:
Jérôme, insiste sur le fait que ce soutien et ces généreuses donations seront utilisées pour essayer des médicaments et thérapies parallèles avec l'espoir de trouver les solutions dont pourront bénéficier ensuite toutes les autres victimes de cette maladie.
