Hi there! My name is Jason Pang and I'm currently a grade 11 student at Richmond Secondary School. Recently, I've been accepted as a member of the Arctic Youth Ambassador Summit 2017 delegation to Iqaluit, Nunavut with Global Vision's Canadian Junior Team (www.globalvision.ca/ayas).
From October 26th to 30th I will be representing British Columbia while engaging in Roundtables on Northern issues such as food security, health care, climate change and access to education; meet with the Elders to learn about the rich history of Nunavut; collaborate on developing a leadership program for Iqaluit High School; and share unique experiences with new friends from Coast, to Coast, to Coast.
My passion for our nation's environment, sustainability, human rights and future can be shown through my extra-circular work throughout the community. I hope to share my expertise in Environmental Sustainability through my opportunities here in south-west Canada to students all across Canada.
Furthermore, as I return from my experience, I'm most excited to share what I will learn at the Arctic through my school, my communities, and global youth leaders to further strengthen the bond of Canada to last another 150+ years to come.
Each member of the team is responsible for securing at least 40% towards the total cost of the Arctic Youth Ambassador Summit, and I NEED YOUR HELP! Other than helping subsidize the cost of my travels, the funds will also be invested into 2 students from the Arctic to attend this summit as well. Donations are tax-deductible and every bit will help me toward my goal. Please share my story with your friends, and let me know if you know of any organizations or business that might be willing to sponsor me!
