Support Disaster Victims in Jarra

Lower River Region is the poorest region of the Gambia in terms of per capita income and other resources. Majority of people live in old mud brick houses, making them very vulnerable to rain and wind destruction. Today, torrential rains have cause large scale destruction in several communities in Jarra, Lower River Region of The Gambia.

Consequently, the people of Jarra living in North America, United Kingdom and Europe have mobilized to provide urgent relief for the people affected, led by the UK Jarra Association, Bureng Association USA, UK JOCADUSA (US Jarra Association, UK Bureng Association and other sister Associations. We are determined to send urgent relief to our people by committing the resources of our associations. However, this will not be enough.

Therefore, we are raising funds through GoFundMe to supplement the resources our associations have to enable us to send adequate relief and facilitate a quick recovery for victims and displaced persons. Please join us , chip in, donate generously as most of the victims are  vulnerable women and children. While the scale of destruction is being assessed, we must spring into action right now!
