Support in the Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
As some of you know, is currently undergoing cancer treatments for a rare type of cancer called Pleomorphic Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma.

Originally diagnosed in August of 2023, went from having one singular tumor in his hip to over 11 different tumors between both his retroperitoneum and lungs. In fall of 2023 his cancer team had opted to not surgically remove the remainder of his tumor as they wanted to wait for it to get bigger so they could visualize it better. 6 months after that decision we received the horrific news that the cancer spread everywhere with some of the 11 tumors found being over 6+ centimeters long.

He has undergone surgeries due to complications from these tumors and began chemotherapy to keep these aggressive tumors from growing. On Monday July, 15th we found out that the chemotherapy was not working at all and the tumors have grown significantly larger.

We are very humble and hardworking people and until this point we were so proud of the goals we achieved together and the life we had begun building. Cancer ripped so much of this away.

As much as we have tried to stay afloat – we are drowning mentally, emotionally, and financially. Because of the complex medical issues, surgeries, and appointments, he has been unable to regularly work in months, and I am now our sole income. I no longer have any paid time off which means that every appointment date becomes another day we are without income.

Asking for help from our community and loved ones brings on such a feeling of defeat and sadness.

Typing this all out is heavy and painful, but what is more painful is knowing my husband is bearing the mental weight of worrying about how our family is going to continue to survive while he is fighting like hell for his life. Especially when he always has dedicated every moment towards being a strong and selfless provider since the moment we met.

We are alarmingly behind on rent and bills while trying to afford food and gas and missing days of work. And now, with the cancer getting worse and the greater distance we will have to travel for clinical trials we are on the horizon of things becoming much harder than they already are.

No one owes us anything at all, and we wholeheartedly understand that times are hard for us all. Even just the act of sharing this GoFundMe would be so appreciated beyond anything we could ever express.

Please know that our gratitude from everyone who has supported, encouraged, and loved us through this knows no limit.

I have made two videos explaining Nick’s journey thus far in hopes of finding anyone who might have gone through this rare cancer in hopes of finding answers and guidance:
