Unfortunately, the beaches are open and there is no Safety Cover
We are so lucky to live in a community where so far 26 NON PAID, NON EMPLOYED trained Lifeguards have volunteered to watch over the beaches on an informal basis.
These Lifeguards have No Insurance and No PPE yet are prepared to risk their own safety to help others who get in to trouble.
5 of the Volunteers were involved in the incident at Constantine and Treyarnon on 25 th May where sadly, a man died.
The Lifeguards are trained in PREVENTION and want to be able to stop an incident escalating before it ends in any more tragedies
This is NOT a substitute RNLI service and we desperately want the Government and the RNLI to resolve the situation.
In the meantime PLEASE support the fund to get them insurance and some basic supplies
