Supporting Stuart

Donation protected

On Monday, October 9th, Stuart Novotny was involved in a life altering vehicle accident. He was headed home on I-70 after taking a load of cattle to the Junction City sale barn when a tire blew on his pickup causing him to lose control of the truck and trailer; rolling in the median and ended up in the east bound lanes of I-70, ejecting him in the process.

Thankfully, there were many kind hearted people that were able to instantly stop and call for help. Stuart was life-flighted to Salina Regional where they stabilized him and felt his injuries were critical enough that he needed to be flown to Wesley Medical Center to a level 1 trauma unit. His conditions are so extreme that he does not have just one doctor on his case, he has a trauma team.

Stuart is suffering from very traumatic chest and brain injuries, along with pneumonia and terrible cuts, scrapes and bruises to the entire body. He has 11 broken ribs on the right side and several on the left side. Both collar bones and his right shoulder blade is broken. His C2 in his neck and T12 in his lower back are fractured, but we are told these are not paralyzing injuries. Because of all these injuries, his hospital stay will be a very long one and a very hard road to recovery.

All money donated will go to his wife and children to help face the extensive amount of medical expenses that come with his injuries, as well as all the unanticipated costs that will come from the long hospital stays away from home.

As a family, the Novotny's strongly believe in the power of prayer and miracles. If you cannot donate to the cause, we ask taht you please keep Stuart and the rest of his family in your prayers. Please pray to give the family and Stuart strength and guidance as they endure such a life altering event. They greatly appreciate any support and kindness that has been or will be offered to them.
