Supporting Seattle Organizations and Mutual Aids

The Solidarity for Black Student Needs Coalition (S4BSNC) is committed to supporting the needs of the Black community as a whole, in addition to the needs of Black students at the UW. In response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others, organizers have been tirelessly coordinating protests across Seattle. Police are meeting protests with violence and unjust arrests. Many organizations and mutual aid funds are in need of donations to support the Black community in various ways. Support looks like funding legal fees for those arrested at protests, supporting local Black families affected by police violence, providing Black families with meals, advocating for the abolition of the anti-Black carceral state, as well as uplifting Black leadership to name a few ways. Advocacy must extend beyond posts on social media. We must materially show up for the Black community. The S4BSNC is collecting donations through ActBlue and is looking for your support in this endeavor. Below is a compilation of local organizations that need our support. This GoFundMe page will evenly split the donations between these organizations in efforts to uplift the Black Community in Washington state. We are hoping to donate at least $1000 to each organization!!!
