<div>Our beloved Raquel was diagnosed with an aggressive metastatic Stomach Cancer on October 5, 2023.  The official diagnosis is a Stage 4, mucinous adenocarcinoma with gastrointestinal differentiation. We are shocked and saddened by this surprising diagnosis. To know Raquel is to know her generosity of heart, her love of life and her deeply healing presence within the life of her friends, family and community at large.

<div>While Raquel is blessed to be supported by a loving circle of friends and family near and far, she and the O’Leary family will need our financial support to help ease the path during this difficult chapter. This is a day by day, moment by moment unfolding. Presently, initial treatment interventions will include 6 months or more of chemotherapy and radiation, with the additional support of immunotherapies to eradicate the cancer cells, as the first phase. She will look to holistic therapies such as acupuncture, massage and reiki for emotional and symptomatic support. A metastatic diagnosis such as this will require ongoing care well beyond this first phase, inclusive of regular PET scans, ongoing chemotherapy, bloodwork and medicines that may be needed for years to come.
