Supporting Rachel Browning's Family

Donation protected
A beautiful woman was taken suddenly from us on Wednesday, 16th August 2017 around 10:15pm.

Rachel Browning was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2016 after a routine self-check.  She took action straightaway and went through Chemotherapy followed by surgery in March 2017, then followed by radiation.

Then in the middle of June 2017, Rachel suffered headaches and was given a MRI where it was discovered lots of tumours in her brain and got onto radiation straightaway.  Rachel was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in the brain and had at least a 1 – 2 year life expectancy.

The week before her death, the tumours and swelling in her brain took over and her body simply couldn't fight anymore.

Rachel was a humble person who gave endlessly to the community, she volunteered in many community activities from her work in Ballarat Victoria, along with 13 years of volunteering with the Australian Breastfeeding Association from when her oldest boy Liam was a baby.  Her work with ABA ranged from being a breastfeeding counsellor, community educator and doing the TAE so that she could be a trainer to the trainees who volunteer.  Rachel also did behind the scenes work such as leading group meetings in Ballarat, branch treasurer, regional rep and took part in lots of different projects for the ABA.

Rachel also volunteered in a program called Operation Move where she was a running coach helping people who were learning to run.

Rachel took an active part in her kid’s activities from swimming to basketball.

The most important people in Rachel's life were Tim, her loving husband, Liam (13), Soren (8) and Lindsay (4), who will be starting school next year.  She loved them with all her heart and was looking forward to jumping this hurdle in her life so that she could make plans with her boys.

Due to the short time frame of her illness, she wasn't able to get her financial affairs in order.  Her plans to set up her boys' future were started in motion in the last month but she didn't get very far due to the fierceness of her illness.

We (her ABA friends) wanted to set up this GoFundMe page to help Tim and her boys to get their lives in order.  A lot of people have wanted to show their support by offering to cook, clean and run errands.  But the time when this is most needed is when Tim and the boys have to move forward in their lives and Tim has to go back to work and will need help with the daily grind of taking care of their boys and the household.

These funds will go towards moving forward in their lives to take part in their school activities, funding their schooling and taking care of the household.

We love our friend Rachel and will miss her dearly and hoping that we can give back to her family the way she gave to us.
