To all my friends and family members and those I haven’t met yet! As I’ve shared with many of you on a personal level and via social media, I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, PEComa bone cancer.

What in the world is PEComa? My exact thoughts.

A rare form of cancer that refers to a malignant perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) that has spread to the bone, rather than being a primary bone cancer. PEComas are rare soft tissue tumors that can become aggressive and metastasize, with the bone being a frequent site for spread. Most malignant forms are aggressive and can be difficult to treat.

With this, I am unable to work due to the severity of my daily pain and mobility. My doctors are optimistic about my treatment regimen. My faith in God keeps me aligned with the doctor’s prognosis. With many doctor’s appointments, treatments, and co-pays, I am unable to stay afloat.
