<div>It was Just two months after we laid my grandmother — her mother — to rest, our family received another devastating blow. Our mom has been diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, which has already spread to her liver and intestines. The speed and severity of this diagnosis took us by surprise, and the emotional and financial weight has become overwhelming.

<div>As she begins this difficult journey, she needs constant support and someone by her side. So far, she has had three rounds of chemo, a port put in just this week, and she has three more rounds of chemo coming up next week. Her dear husband, Jackie waits on her hand and foot - is an amazing &amp; does everything in his powers to take care of her day-to-day needs. Every day she gets weaker by the minute, she can hardly speak, and has fallen more times than I can count. She has lost most control of her bodily functions, her hair, and suffers daily with intense pain. My dad, also not in the best of help, tries his hardest to do everything for her, but just by looking at him, he looks exhausted and devastated at the same time. She has also recently had surgeries on her arm, and a biopsy taken from her liver. We are waiting for the MRI results of her brain. Results to be released Monday

<div>My brother, who also lives in Georgia can explain it a lot better than I. Every week I travel there to help out with her fur babies and housework, etc., and it being holiday season the expenses of doing so is all excruciating. I couldn’t live with myself if I knew that she did not have constant care needed . Our dad may think he is Superman, but by looking at him, I can tell he needs us as well -has to be out of the house at times to run errands get her prescriptions groceries or whatever it is that she needs. I am more than willing to put my job on the back burner while we all fight this horrible devastating cancer. At this point, she is losing around a pound a day and has lost most of her hair and &amp; strength ***yet keeps holding onto HOPE!

<div>We”re reaching out with a heavy heart to share that this diagnosis with you because at this point of this journey, she needs consistent support, care, and someone by her side to pick her up if she falls or if our dad isn’t around at the time.

<div>I myself took care of my grandmother, whom I loved so very much taught me to live my life with my heart, which I am trying to do now and have been for a long time. I do have a family in Douglasville and Carrollton, but my mom is our priority right now.

<div>I’m creating this page with a heavy heart to ask for help covering the travel expenses required to support her during treatment and take care of her day-to-day needs. Anything I can do to make her quality of life any better than what it is now . Anything you give—no matter how small—will directly help me stay by her side during the most important time of our life.

Funds will also go toward cleaning supplies, gas traveling to Alabama from Georgia, necessities needed for her care, and a few head scarves. Thankfully I have a job that allows me to make my own hours. All hours I’m not working for actual income, goes into time helping and supporting her every need. I can’t put an actual value of contributions really needed at this time but every cent helps- you have no idea how appreciated you are for all donations and prayers! I never thought I’d have to ask for help but reality hits in a huge way when you can hardly afford to pay your phone bill. My heart tells me that by being with her at this time is the right thing to do. And with that being said- you treat people how you’d like to treated. I know I’d want my children to be there for me if something like this fell on me. Just please know I understand if you can’t provide monetary support.
