Almost 2 years ago, our dearest friend, Marc Hellinghausen, was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had metastasized to his lymph nodes, bladder and bones. Marc has always been someone who gives his heart and soul to the people around him, and now, in this incredibly challenging time, we are coming together to support him. Their family has walked a very difficult and expensive journey pursuing many integrative alternatives as the traditional treatments offered him a very bleak outcome.

From the very beginning, Marc and Shelli leaned on their faith, praying together in the ER that God would give them strength and guide them to be a light to others throughout this challenging path. They have faced unimaginable struggles but also experienced profound love and support from their family, friends, and community. Through it all, they continue to shine that light to others, even in the darkest of moments. They are a true testament to God's faithfulness, as He has provides strength and unexpected provisions at every turn.

In 2023, Marc spent 14 weeks out of the country receiving specialized treatments, and so far in 2024, he has spent 13 weeks doing the same. Because of his health, Marc had to close his business to focus fully on his treatment plan. Shelli has been his steadfast caregiver, managing the demands of this role with grace and unwavering dedication. Marc’s journey has been far from linear—there have been incredible strides, but also setbacks. He is currently participating in a promising cancer trial in South Carolina, which brings both hope and added financial burden.

As close friends, Bryan and I have witnessed firsthand the emotional toll that this diagnosis has taken on Marc and Shelli. We’ve seen their resilience, their faith, and their love for others, even in the hardest times. They are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support they’ve received, but we also want to address a very real and often overlooked need—cancer can have a devastating financial impact, and it’s a struggle they face every day.

Marc and Shelli’s journey has not only inspired us but countless others as well. They have been a light in so many lives, and we want to help support them in a tangible way during this difficult time.
