Supporting Keith Ingalls

Donation protected
My name is Ehlysa Ingalls, I am 18 years old, and am currently a freshman in college. I have decided to start a GoFundMe for my dad, Keith Ingalls.

My dad was recently involved in a life-threatening car wreck on June 12, 2018 on his way back from a tour of Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. It was a freak accident that almost cost him his life. Unfortunately, his two friends in the car with him passed away at the scene. My dad was immediately life-flighted from the scene to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston where he spent about three weeks in the ICU in critical condition. He suffers from traumatic brain injury, a chest wall contusion, and multiple fractures. The doctors and officers informed us that he would most likely not make it. However, through the grace of God and my dad’s will to live, he is still here with us today. He’s fighting so hard.

After spending some time in the ICU, he was later transported closer to home to Nexus Specialty Hospital. After that, we were able to transport him to Encompass, a rehabilitation hospital. We were looking forward to his time here because it looked positive for the future and his recovery. However, our insurance decided they could no longer pay for his recovery at Encompass. We had no other choice than to take him home due to financial problems, however, he is nowhere near ready to be home. My mother had to quit her job to take full-time care of him, and my brother had to move back home from college to help her.

The money raised will help cover various expenses. Our main goal is to have the money to put our dad back in a rehabilitation center with the professional help and care he desperately needs to recover. We hope to put him in TIRR Memorial Hermann, which is the second best rehabilitation center in the nation and specializes in traumatic brain injuries. The money will also help us pay for his diapers, food for his feeding tube, bed mats, and much more. The money will also mainly go towards all of the extraordinary medical bills that we cannot afford.

Any sort of donation means the world to us. My dad has three children and two of us are still in college. Without my dad having the capability to have a job and my mom having to quit hers, money is starting to become a huge obstacle, especially with all the medical bills. This money could end up saving my dad’s life. It will provide him with the care he needs due to his severe brain injury. There’s only so much me, my mom, and brothers can do at home. All we want is to have our funny, loving dad back with us. We want him to be here to see us graduate college, get a job, walk me down the aisle, and start our own families.

Thank you so much for anything you can do to help. Any sort of donation, prayers, and/or sharing this with friends and family will help us tremendously and could save my dad’s life.

God bless.
