<div>Jennifer Strang (Jacobs) is connected to me through extended family. Since this heartbreaking loss, I have not been able to stop thinking about her children and the difficult days ahead of them.

<div>Jennifer was a single mother of five. There was no extra cushion, no hidden reserve waiting for moments like this. Now, her children are left to navigate grief, trauma, and enormous life changes all at once.

<div>Thankfully, they have loving grandparents who have always shown up for them — steady, present, and devoted. They will now be the ones to carry these children forward, just as they always have. But stepping into this role fully, especially in retirement, comes with significant financial strain.
