Want to join me on my half marathon in making a difference?
I’m raising money to benefit Pilgrims Hospices In East Kent, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Pilgrims Hospices In East Kent: We are Pilgrims, the largest hospice charity in east Kent. We help people facing incurable illness to live well in every moment.
I am running a half marathon in April at Northstowe, Cambridgeshire to raise funds for The Pilgrim's Hospice in East Kent who looked after my late brother in law, Gordon Corrigan MBE FRHistS, who was diagnosed with two untreatable malignant brain tumours last November.
He spent 38 years in the Army serving with the Brigade of Gurkhas, finally retiring in 1998.
He had always had an interest in military history, so he became a freelance writer, presenter and writer of many books, with particular interest in the Gurkhas, WWI, WWII and Wellington. He gave multiple talks whilst working with several specialist tour operators travelling mainly in Europe and India.
Following his untreatable cancer diagnosis last November and his decision to stay at home until the end, his palliative care nurse managed to get him a place at short notice in his local hospice, Pilgrim's Hospice in Ashford, for his final days.
Whilst there they looked after him and ultimately his widow, Imogen, with utmost care and respect.
Hospices, no matter where they are, always need our support and this is my way to help them after all they did for my family recently.
I have never attempted a half marathon so I am looking for your support.
Anything you can give would be most appreciated!
Thank you
