Helping Ellie & Sammy to recovery

Ellie Austin and her youngest son Sammy are facing separate battles with cancer at the same time. They are one month into treatment and doing well but Ellie & Sammy and their family could use your help to get through this time with prayers, juju, good vibes and whatever positive vibes you can send. Ellie has worked tirelessly for the advancement of Indigenous peoples in Cape York and the Pacific and the funds will go to helping the whole family get through this time whilst Mum's off work. The treatment will be ongoing for now, but as Ellie and Sammy are at the start of the treatment, we're hoping to be able to help get them sorted so they can just focus on healing. We're aiming to raise $10,000.00 in the April and 20,000 by July. Every little bit is appreciated.

This campaign is being run with Ellie Austin and her family's permission by Melissa Sinclair. Melissa Sinclair worked for many years with Ellie Austin in Cape York until October 2017. The funds will go directly to Ellie Austin to help cover costs of Ellie and Sammy's medical treatment for cancer. In April this year, the Consumers Health Forum of Australia found that more than a third of people with chronic conditions such as cancer experienced out-of-pocket costs of more than $10,000 despite being covered by health insurance.
