Supporting our EGS families in need

As you know, many families across the UK are experiencing serious financial hardship due to the economic crisis and the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a school community, we are committed to supporting our students and their families and so we are launching a fundraising appeal to provide financial assistance to those who require support during these difficult times.

Our hardship fund, which is supported by local businesses and donations, currently supports students by providing uniform vouchers, contributions to trips, school equipment and study materials. We would like to extend the support we offer our students with additional funds for their families for household essentials such as:

Food vouchers - vouchers which can be redeemed at high street supermarkets

Energy vouchers - energy vouchers to top up prepaid energy meters. The vouchers cover all the main energy companies and can be redeemed at Post Office and PayPoint locations to ensure support is easy and accessible for all voucher recipients

Energy efficient household appliances - partly funded by the Local Authority providing vouchers to purchase appliances to help reduce household energy usage (such as Microwaves, Slow Cookers, Induction Portal Hobs, Heat conducting pots etc).

Each barrier or worry that we can remove for a young person improves their experience at school and helps to support their engagement and learning.

Your kind donation will help make a positive difference to our students and their families. The initial fundraising period will close at the end of the February half-term (Sunday 19 February) and we will communicate with parents/carers on Tuesday 21 February to explain how to apply for financial support.
