Supporting Doberman rescue dogs who help veterans

Tax deductible
For many brave members of our nation’s armed forces, coming home as a civilian is only the beginning of another daunting battle. The visible & invisible wounds of war, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), can cause debilitating symptoms in veterans, leading to depression, social isolation, and, far too often, suicide.  According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, more than 18 veterans commit suicide every day.

Fortunately, trained service dogs can help their owner handle some of these symptoms and many more physical challenges like reduced vision, ambulatory and much more. Service dogs provide physical help, reduce stress and anxiety, mitigate depression, and ease social integration. Their unique services help restore confidence and independence in veterans living with challenges. The decision to work with a service dog can be a transformational event, extending into all areas of a veteran’s life.

The Doberman Pinscher is a great breed to consider for service dog assistance. Dobermans are known for following their handler from room to room and insist on being close at hand all the time. They are often referred to as “velcro dogs'' because they bond so closely with their person. They rank highly among the most trainable breeds and possess an innate joy working with and for their handler.

Our fundraising concept here is to create a fund to help to cover the costs of rescue for some of the best rescue dogs to move into Service & Therapy training, making the dog FREE of charge to an assigned veteran or other qualified individual working thru mental health and ambulatory issues.

We are excited to announce that during the WOAHX conference, there will be meet & greet sessions with the many potential Doberman rescue dogs.

We ask that whether you will be on site with us at the WOAHX conference or you are virtual, please help us make some Doberman rescue dogs available to veterans FREE of charge with a donation today.

More information about Doberman Pinscher Rescue: We are a non-profit, no-kill dog rescue located in rural Fillmore, California. We mostly specialize in Doberman's but we also rescue little dogs and other breeds on occasion. Our goal is to see that no Doberman's are euthanized unnecessarily in California animal shelters but instead are given a second chance at a new life and a loving home.
