Supporting Coral Kelly with Prosthetics

Donation protected

Coral and her husband Trevor live on a Grain and Cattle property on the outskirts of Oakey on the Darling Downs. Farming has its’ share of ups and downs including floods and enduring droughts.

They faced their biggest challenge of all on the 26th of April 2011, when a traumatic farming accident changed their lives forever. In a split second Corals’ hand was caught in a grain auger. The ambulance took a long time to arrive but finally she was on her way to Toowoomba Base Hospital to be assessed and stabilised. Life Flight (previously known as Care Flight) flew her to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane for surgery. Unfortunately, her hand couldn’t be saved and it was necessary to amputate just below the elbow.

Coral is an amazing and very positive person and does the best that she can with all that she faces. It was amazing to see in hospital when she had asked for a pen and was trying to practice her signature with her left hand. She always tries to overcome obstacles and get on with things. Life is very busy on the farm and Coral is instrumental in running the farm, which is often very difficult and stressful.

She always faces things with a positive attitude and is an inspiration to her family and all who know her.

We are raising funds to provide Coral with a much needed and desired prosthetic hand to make life that little bit easier on the farm.

Thankyou for supporting Coral
