Please join me in supporting Carrie  and her family through this emotional and financially challenging time. Below is a message from Carrie-

HI, My name is Carrie! I am a nutritionist, detox specialist, healer and mother! My husband and I have been on a journey to have a baby for quite some time. We have leaped through many hoops and climbed what feels like a few mountains to be where we are today. We are excited to say that we are pregnant...I am currently 16 weeks. However, we received unfortunate news when I was 10 weeks along. We were told that there was an extra X chromosome on our baby and that 100% these babies do not live. We then later found out that it is possible she has something called mosaic trisomy X and these babies do live and most live a pretty normal life with some extra cognitive and emotional developmental support. There is also a possibility that our sweet baby girl started with a twin and that is where the extra genetic information is coming from. This information has been beyond overwhelming emotionally and financially. Because there are so many unknowns and so little information about this rare condition, we have been through lots of genetic testing and met with many genetic counselors to prepare ourselves for what is next to come. Feb 12 is the next test. We will have an amniocentesis completed to verify the finding of previous tests. Although we hope for the best, we are also preparing ourselves emotionally for any outcome.

We are very fortunate to have insurance. Our insurance has covered every normal pregnancy visit. However, all of our meetings with Maternal Fetal Medicine, genetic counselors, Karyotype testing for me and my husband has not been covered because it is a specialist that is out of our network. We have been doing our very best to stay in a positive light. The reality is, we feel like we are sinking financially. With medical bills stacking and stress rising, it has become quite taxing on our beautiful family. This is very difficult for me to even write or admit. I have been working overtime and juggling three jobs to stay afloat. A dear friend reached out to me and suggested I share my story....so here it is. We are just a normal, hard working family that expected to have a normal pregnancy. We were blind sided by this situation and we hope to be able to put all this behind us very soon.
