<div>Little Ophelia was a trooper today. Her surgery for the chemo port and spinal tap went well. She is back in the NICU recovering and will start back up on her feeds this evening. She was also able to come off the ventilator without any difficulty. 
</div>
<div>The NICU nurses will be trained by oncology on what care will look like for Ophelia while she gets treatment in this unit. We will also look more in depth tomorrow on treatment schedule, medications, and all the extra stuff that goes with this. Thursday, LeLe will hopefully start her first rounds. 
</div>
<div>The nurses have also been so sweet to Wylie. Right before surgery, they gave him a doctor’s kit, and as soon as we got back to our room, he went to town fixing his animals. He is quite the doctor. 
</div>
<div>Thank you for all your prayers. Even though today’s surgery wasn’t as big as the biopsy, it’s still hard to put your child through all the medications and stress and every prayer means the absolute world to us. <div>Our community is heartbroken to share that Mrs. Morgan Olson, one of our beloved teachers, recently received the devastating news that her newborn daughter, Ophelia, has been diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT)— a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the central nervous system. Ophelia and the Olson family have a long and difficult journey ahead of them. Every gift — big or small — will help ease the burden and show the Olsons they’re not alone. Let’s come together to lift up one of our own with love, strength, and support. Please keep Morgan, baby Ophelia, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
