Supporting Baby Kathleen

With great happiness we announce the birth of baby Kathleen, Jennifer and Nicks first child together; however, her arrival (while happy) has brought immediate hardship and stress to her family. Little Kathleen made her entrance to the world 14 weeks early, weighing only 996g (2.2lbs), and is months away from being able to return home with her family.
Her spirit is strong, though, and she fights from the NICU (Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit) every day with the help of amazing doctors, nurses, and love, light, and prayer.
We are asking for your help in different ways. First and foremost, prayer and faithful wishes for this little girl to have the physical strength to grow and live a healthy life, and for her family to remain strong of heart and faith that she will do so.
Secondly, we are asking for your financial support. The IWK Children’s Hospital is in Halifax, NS and Jennifer and Nick live a province away in PEI with their small family, for whom they are trying to keep their home life as normal as possible, all the while preoccupied with the health and wellness of their brand new baby.
All monetary donations, big and small, will be going to the family not only to support the costs at home in PEI due to early leave from their jobs, but also to help lessen the burden of the repeated trips that they will need to take to visit baby Kathleen. Despite Canada’s amazing publicly-funded health care system, there will still be many medical bills in the near future due to Kathleen’s prematurity. And alongside the medical costs of a premature baby, there are also the added costs of all the baby-needs upon her arrival home that have had to be purchased significantly earlier than planned.
