Support for Lindsay

My brother’s partner Lindsay was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Lindsay is only 37 years old, and is mom to their daughter Kaya (16 months old).

 Lindsay recently graduated from college and was about to start a new career. Unfortunately, the cancer diagnosis means she will instead be facing a tough road ahead, involving chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and radiation.  Treatment has already begun, and it’s been difficult and intense. In typical Lindsay fashion though, she is calm and collected, and is most concerned about Louie and Kaya’s wellbeing.

 


I’ve started this GoFundMe account, with the hope that our community of friends and family can come together and raise money to help Lindsay and Louie during this difficult time.  

 There will be many extra costs during Lindsay’s treatment. Things like child care, hospital parking, meals, mastectomy garments, cleaning services, extra things like hats and wigs, etc.; they will all add to the stress of their situation.  Lindsay is not eligible for EI or disability insurance because she was a student, and Louie’s income will be affected, as he has already begun taking time off work to help Lindsay get through her toughest chemo days.

Prior to Lindsay’s cancer diagnosis, the family was already in crisis mode, dealing with a sudden, serious illness involving their beloved dog, Rolo, who lost her ability to walk.  This situation continues to be a source of emotional and financial stress. In addition to that, Lindsay was counting on earning an income to pay back her student loans, and I know this is weighing on her. My hope is that we can ease her worries a bit, so she can focus on fighting the cancer, and healing.  



Please help me in supporting Lindsay and Louie, by easing some of their financial worries. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
