On November 14, 2017, our beloved friend, Kara, was diagnosed with unimaginable news: Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. After beating this once before in her 20's, Kara, now 36, is in for the fight of her life as the cancer has spread to her liver, lungs and aorta.
Just a few months prior, Kara was laid off from her job of 7 years. It was during these two months, while starting a new job, she became so sick and had to go on disability and pay the high cost to keep her COBRA insurance. She visited doctor after doctor, ER after ER until they finally found the source of her nausea and vomiting and gave her a diagnosis. This has been so hard emotionally and financially on Kara and her daughters, Mekenna (17) and Madison (4).
Although Kara was hesitant for us to do this on her behalf, we are on a mission to give support to the one person we all know would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She is so sick she can barely get out of bed, let alone work. Please consider donating to support Kara and her girls. These funds will be used to take care of the girls, medical costs and additional fees not covered by insurance. Kara will also need lots of support with additional childcare, housekeeping, rides, groceries and whatever it takes to keep their home running while she undergoes treatment.
