Friends and Family of Francisco Dominguez and Marilu Martinez,
As most of you know by now, Francisco has had a recurrence of melanoma and is in the final days of his life. In spite of the medical prognosis that his cancer is terminal and untreatable, Francisco has remained the same man we all knew him as--a man of character, integrity, and quiet strength. The steady stream of family, friends, and coworkers who stop by to see him every day attests to the deep love and respect both he and Marilu have engendered in the lives they have touched. Both are always appreciative of our company while still being visibly humble that we should care for them so deeply.
While Francisco’s family is understandably grieved by his imminent death, the support and concern of his coworkers has been unusual in its steadfast and universal consistency. Many have given their time, money, effort, and even unused vacation pay to Francisco and Marilu to help them, yet the costs associated with the passing of a loved one casts a deep shadow over this tragic time, and they add to Marilu’s grief and uncertainty.
We understand that there are many causes which ask us to help by contributing, and it can be difficult to choose which cause is the most worthy of our very limited ability to help others. Science and medicine have no more answers for Francisco or Marilu, but we can continue to show our love and support for them by lifting the financial burden of Francisco’s passing from Marilu’s shoulders. Please help them in any way you can.
