Support for Cherie Connors

Donation protected
Hello All!
My name is Joe John and my friend Emily Stott and I are former students of Cherie Connors - which is why for the duration of this explanation we will habitually refer to her as Ms.Connors.

I've never met such a caring and loving person in my entire life. Upon entering high school I found myself extremely anxious and nervous. Once I stepped foot into the English classroom of Ms.Connors all of those feelings were gone. As a freshman honors and academic english teacher, Ms.Connors makes it her personal goal to make the transition from middle school to high school the easiest that it can possibly be. From day one she has impacted my life in many ways, which is probably the reason that now, as a senior, we still have a close relationship. Ms. Connors goes above and beyond to make every single one of her students feel like a member of her family. Her ability to welcome and accept everyone and her overall generous and loving personality is why she was one of the 2014 Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award recipients.

Due to a recent back injury, Ms.Connors has been in and out of the hospital since the beginning of the school year. Her current stay has gone much longer than expected - she has been there since about mid-November - and without getting in to too many personal details, she has found herself at the tail end of lots and lots of bills.

We, as former students, understand the impact that she has had on us, many other former students, and know that she will continue to positively impact the lives of future students no matter her circumstances. We would love for her to understand the amount of love and support that is coming from Omaha North High and the community around. If you are able to contribute anything, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this. If you get around to sharing it, include the #supportforcherie
