Rebuilding After Harvey

Since the aftermath of Harvey, my story has changed. Not only am I struggling to bring in income because my business has come to a complete standstill, I'm now also wondering just how I will provide for my children while FEMA assesses whether I deserve relief or not.

My name is Jasmine and I'm the sole proprietor of Glam Activist and A La Vogue. 

Having been involved in beauty and fashion for nearly 15 years, I decided in 2013 to invest my savings and  pursue my goals and begin to market my creativity in the beauty space as an additional income to help support my two beautiful children. 

Earlier this year, I received some very unfortunate diagnoses which directly affected my ability to work. 

I lost my steady income. 

In constant pain, I became faced with how to get well and support my babies.

What started off as my side business has become my only source of income.

My main goal has now changed to: SURVIVE.

I intend to return to my original goal - which is to be able to show other young people that acting on even the tiniest amount of your own innovation can propel your life into success.

Ultimately, I intend to grow my brands to a level where I can donate a portion of all proceeds to help equalize the opportunities available to those who would benefit most from it. 

And I'm hoping that there are philanthropic souls who can and want to invest in my vision.
