On January 5th, Corey had a PET scan, CT scan, and a ultrasound of the heart. Scans came back normal and the ultrasound was done to ensure his heart is strong enough to endure chemotherapy.
On January 7th, the Oncologist team determined Corey has Stage 4 Type B Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. He had a bone marrow biopsy to determine if the cancer had spread to the bone marrow. The biopsy showed that the tumor has spread into the bone marrow. He will undergo a spinal tap on Friday to determine if the cancer has spread to the spinal fluid. Corey also had a central IV line placed in his chest so they can access it for treatment as well as draw blood.
Corey will start chemotherapy Friday morning. This is going to be a long journey for Corey, Jamie, and their family but he is such a fighter and so is she. As a single mother of three, she has always done everything in her power to provide for them. I can't even imagine the devistation she is going through. Jamie has always had the strength to overcome anything; I know with the help of all of you we can provide the support she and Corey need to get through this.
Jamie will be unable to work for at least the next six months. However, Coreys treatment could take up to 3 1/2 years. All of your donations will go directly to Jamie to help support her and her family during this time.
Please take a moment to donate what you can and say a special prayer for Corey! He is such a fighter and we know he has the strength to overcome this.
Please keep the healing thoughts and energy flowing! Thank you all for the support and encouragement.
