To our family, friends, and supporters,
Since November 2017 our beloved dad and husband, Armen Gasper, has been battling pancreatic cancer. It began with Stage 3, and was re-staged to Stage 4 this past July. His fight with cancer thus far has included 6 months of conventional treatments, as well as alternative therapies. It has been a difficult year in so many ways, physically, emotionally, financially, but we are a united front – optimistic, hopeful, and approaching every day with a positive outlook. Throughout it all
he has been incredibly strong, heroic, and dedicated.
Over the past months we’ve received an incredible outpouring of love and support, as well as gracious offers of help. This has fortified our strength and we are deeply grateful to all of you.
As many of you know, conventional treatment only is not enough to battle stage 4 pancreatic cancer and we must try new therapies and options. We are determined to win this fight, and need your help in doing so. Right now we are considering alternative options as next steps in his treatment including: appointments with different cancer centers, chemotherapy boosters, a gentler form of chemotherapy, supplements, natural therapies, and potential travel to treatments outside of Canada. Unfortunately none of these are covered by OHIP, and come at a considerable cost. We are writing to our family, friends, loved ones, and well-wishers in the hopes that your contributions can help us get Armen access to different treatments, and to help alleviate some of the financial stress from medical bills and travel costs. This is absolutely not an obligation, nor is there any pressure to participate, and we so appreciate your overall support in this fight.
It’s hard to think of a more loving, kind, strong, and supportive person than our dad – he’s a shining light in all our lives. Please support if you can, and most of all please keep Armen in your minds and hearts.
