Support For Andy Glass & Family

Our friends, the Glass Family, need our support. On June 18, 2015, Andy was injured in a BMX accident. On June 19th, he went in for surgery to fix a shattered tibia, broken fibula, and completely detached miniscus. He started a long road to recovery. After two and a half months of healing, Andy developed a softball size lump. He came down with a high fever and on September 3rd found out he had a MSSA , or staff, infection in the joint, bones, and blood stream. By September 8th, Andy had had 2 surgeries and been in the hospital for 4 days. Andy went back into the hospital for a third surgery on September 14th. Four surgeries and hospital stays of two to four days each in 2 months. Unfortunately, Andy isn't done with hospitals or surgeries. On September 25th, Andy went in for his fifth surgery. . His surgeon confirmed the infection did enter the joint and bone in the area but believes he got all of it surrounding the area washed out. Andy will have extensive rehabilitation, 6 months of antibiotics and possibly some sort of support for the leg until he fully recovers. One of the two incisions is still open with the wound vac to allow proper draining. On September 30th, he will have another surgery, although not a lengthy one, to close up the incision and insert smaller drain tube.

While all this has been happening, the deductibles and copays for the doctors, hospital stays, surgeries, and medicine, etc. is adding up very quickly, not to mention day to day bills. With all of this going on, Heather has only been able to work part time and Andy's temporary disability only covers a portion of what he usually makes.
