Support Zahyr: Help Them Avoid Being Houseless

If you’ve ever met Zahyr, you know. Their presence shifts the air. Their entire being is about giving their time, energy, and care without question because that’s just who they are.

Zahyr is a Black gender (trans)cendent artist whose work moves through community like light, creating, teaching, and showing up for others without hesitation. They’ve spent years pouring their time, love, and energy into lifting up friends, neighbors, and fellow artists. Now, they’re the one who needs a bit of that same love returned.

In July, they were wrongfully terminated from a Director position in the middle of moving to a more affordable place. This was their 10th move in 7 years. Since then, they have been doing everything in their power to find work and stay housed. They still do not have stable income and are currently unable to pay for rent.

They are facing a tough stretch, struggling to keep up with Seattle rent + bills + basic living costs for the next few months. Every dollar helps cover essentials: keeping a roof overhead, putting food on the table, recovering debt accrued from being unemployed for 4 months, and buying time for Zahyr to get back a stable income without the weight of survival pressing down so hard.

The truth is, the world doesn’t always hold people like Zahyr the way it should. The systems built to protect so often look past those who live honestly and freely. Even so, Zahyr keeps showing up with open hands. Keeps making beauty out of what’s left.

If you’ve ever felt Zahyr’s art, or just their presence, you already know how rare they are. They make the world softer. Brighter. More alive. This is a chance to send that love back their way. Even a small contribution, or sharing this page, makes a real difference.

Let’s remind Zahyr that the love they’ve been giving all along is still flowing right back. We can help them stay housed. We can help them stay on path.
