<div>Our hearts are heavy as we share devastating news regarding a cherished member of our Flyer family, Yvette Hoffman and her husband, Senator John Hoffman. Early this morning, Mrs. Hoffman and Senator Hoffman were victims of a horrific and senseless act of violence at their home. Both are currently receiving medical care for injuries sustained in the shooting.

<div>Mrs. Hoffman is an invaluable part of our Fernbrook community, tirelessly dedicating her time and energy as a support professional. She brings joy, compassion, and unwavering support to our students, staff, and families every single day. Her husband, Senator Hoffman, has been a committed advocate for our state, working tirelessly to serve his constituents and improve our communities.

<div>This unconscionable act of violence has shaken us all to our core. Beyond the physical injuries, Mrs. Hoffman and Senator Hoffman are facing immense emotional trauma and an uncertain road to recovery. The medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and the need for security measures will undoubtedly be expensive. On top of this, their lives have been irrevocably altered, and they will need time to heal, both physically and emotionally, without the added burden of financial stress.

<div>As the PTO, we believe in the power of our AMAZING community to rally around those in need. We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to provide immediate and ongoing support to Mrs. Hoffman and Senator Hoffman. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly contribute to medical expenses and rehabilitation costs, lost income, home security enhancements and necessary living expenses. We hope by launching this campaign we can alleviate the burden of costs during this challenging time.

<div>This addendum is to confirm that this campaign is being set up by Fernbrook PTO which is a 501(c)(3) organization. We are fundraising for Mrs. Hoffman and Senator Hoffman. Mrs. Hoffman is a paraprofessional that supports the Kindergarten teachers and students at Fernbrook Elementary. The funds will be distributed directly to the Hoffmans once they are discharged from the hospital and up for visitors. These funds will be used to provide crucial financial comfort during their expected lengthy recovery whether that be to help with household chores, unpaid time from work, expenses for lifestyle adjustments, or covering any unforeseen costs associated with their recovery and changes to their daily lives. We believe these funds will offer significant relief and allow the Hoffmans to prioritize their health and well-being without added financial stress.
