On Friday, May 15th, 14 youth activists with Sunrise PDX were detained and issued noise ordinance citations without prior warning for protesting outside a Hilton hotel hosting ICE agents. The Lake Oswego Police issued these citations with a fine of $570 per person. The activists were protesting the ICE agents who are disappearing our neighbors from their homes, schools, and businesses and protesting the Hilton hotel allowing them to sleep in our communities. Please help our friends cover their legal fees and associated costs, so they can continue fighting creeping authoritarianism in our country.

Any funds left over will be used for mutual aid (rent, groceries, bills, and unexpected emergency expenditures for poor and working-class organizers) to support pro-democracy organizing in the United States.*
