Support Your Local Swimming & Water Polo Team

The whole of the UK is in ‘lockdown’ due to the COVID19 Virus, which has presented some very difficult circumstances for many local families and businesses.  However, one area that seems to have been hit the most are the local sports clubs who rely on donations, fundraising events and the support of their members.

Tyldesley Swimming & Water Polo Club have been a part of the local community for over 144yrs and today has over 140 members with both junior and senior teams in participating in Swimming & Water Polo.  The team are based at the Pelican Centre in the heart of Tyldesley and regularly attend and host both small and large regional galas and competitions.

This year TSWPC will lose a significant amount of income because all swimming pools have been closed, fundraising together has been stopped due to social distancing and the children have no way of training. 

To support the club the children, coaches and families wanted to take part in a challenge to raise money and awareness of how important  this club is to it's local community and to work together and make the clubs 145th a special one!

During the month of May 2020 the club members will take part in their own version of the ‘Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon’ in teams of 3 they will each complete the following:

-        0.5 mile walk (instead of Swimming)

-        6 mile bike ride

-        3 mile run

Please get behind your local Swimming  & Water Polo club and sponsor the team so that we all have a club to come back to once the lockdown is over. Thank you in advance for your support and donations it really does mean the world to us!

The donations will support the costs of pool time, support with kit and equipment.
