Support Xiomara's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On January 7th of this year, while visiting friends in Las Vegas, Xiomara was transported to the hospital urgently via ambulance. She tested positive for the flu, then pneumonia, and her lungs filled up with liquid. After being admitted, Xiomara became unresponsive and was not able to breathe or sustain herself, so she was placed in a medically induced coma. She was intubated and put on life support.
1-2 days prior, Xiomara had not been herself, had a regular cough, but the day of, her face was pale and lips were blue and changing color. Her friends stated she stopped leaving the room and became lethargic, so they asked to take her to the ER, but she refused. They quickly went to buy an oxygen finger checker, and upon checking, Xiomara’s reading for oxygen was 58. They called 911, and paramedics took her to the hospital.
Xiomara has woken up, and the tubes in her mouth have been removed, thank you God!! Xiomara is currently on oxygen and most likely will have to leave with it. Unfortunately, since she laid for so many days in bed, she is still not able to walk, and her right foot is asleep. Doctors are working on a plan, but she will need to go to a rehab center. She has worked with speech therapy to regain her voice and swallowing. Every day she works with physical therapy to regain mobility and strength, but it will be a journey for her.
We are making this GoFundMe because Xiomara does not have Nevada insurance and the goal is to transport her back home to California via road, not air, since this affects her oxygen and breathing. Xiomara is not working right now, and we want to help her raise as much as we can.
If you can’t donate, please just share the link with as many people as you can. Xiomara is such a light in our lives, and we thank God for giving her another chance at life! Thank you so much, blessings.
