BBQ for a Cause

Our Family and Friends in Western North Carolina are experiencing a life altering event; the magnitude of which we're all still grappling with. For over thirteen years The Chop Shop Butchery, a family run business, has prided itself on selling All Natural, Pasture-Raised Meat from Western North Carolina farms at their retail shops.

Warren Wilson College Farm (@wwcfarm) and Dry Ridge Farm (@dryridgefarm) supply the Chop Shop with their delicious Pasture-Raised Pork and Eggs and are two of the four beneficiaries of "BBQ for a Cause." Both of these farms have experienced damage to their property as well as loss of livestock and their market has been decimated. We have also included two charities as beneficiaries of the funds raised. Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) is a nonprofit based in Asheville NC, serving the Southern Appalachian region. Their mission is to help local farmers thrive, link farmers to market and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food. They are working with an extensive list of farms to help provided grants for immediate needs and supplies.

Lastly, Food Connection is our other non-profit that we will be supporting with this event. They are an incredible agency that RESCUES surplus chef-prepared food, REPACKAGES into meals, REDISTRIBUTES into communities which REDUCE food waste and ease hunger. They are currently bringing relief meals and supplies to communities that can't access the central food distributions. Your generous donations will help them continue this effort for as long as the need for food and water continues.
