<div><strong>The Problem</strong>
</div>
<div>Today’s modern technology is designed to be highly addictive and impacts so much of how our kids are growing up. It affects how our kids socialize, how they are entertained, how much time they spend outdoors being active, how they learn at school, and how they experience childhood. Now, there is a growing body of research about the negative consequences of addictive tech on child and adolescent brain development, physical health, and mental health. Families need support as they navigate these huge challenges.

<div><strong>Our Solution</strong>
</div>
<div>We believe that community and family support are crucial, now more than ever. Well Wired's mission is to educate parents and kids with the latest research and recommendations around addictive tech (from smartphones and social media to video games and iPads) and to provide parenting strategies to help families develop healthy tech habits and make informed, intentional decisions about their tech use. 
</div>

<div>Well Wired has surveyed over a thousand parents, hosted Healthy Tech Talks around Bend for hundreds of elementary school families, co-sponsored film screenings with expert panel discussions, engaged in school advocacy promoting tech as a tool instead of a distraction, presented at state legislative forums on phone-free schools, and recently launched a Healthy Tech Pledge empowering parents in Central Oregon to give basic phones until high school, to delay social media until 16 or later, and to prioritize in-person connection. So far, nearly 600 kids have been pledged to this collective action.

<div>Our goal is to grow a community of like-minded families in Central Oregon. TOGETHER, we can change the status quo and make intentional tech the norm.

<div><strong>Purpose of Fundraiser:</strong>

<li>Educational &amp; Community Events - film screening licensing fees, venue fees, expert panel/speaker fees, marketing &amp; event expenses (e.g., printed materials, refreshments, childcare, etc.)
</li>
<li>Healthy Tech Pledge - pledge incentives (e.g., experiences/events), marketing &amp; promotions, Well Wired Ambassadors, etc.
</li>
<li>Well Wired Operating &amp; Marketing Expenses - website fees, advertisements, flyers/printed materials, etc.
