<div>Hi everyone, I'm Tini Howard, and this is for my friend, and your favorite comic writer's favorite comic writer, <strong>Vita Ayala.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vita is the writer of comics like <strong>FINDERS//KEEPERS</strong> and <strong>Submerged.</strong> You might know them from their work helping to build the mutant city-state of Krakoa, where they wrote <strong>New Mutants</strong>, or from their amazing comics work on<strong> Nubia, Star Trek, Xena: Warrior Princess, Prisoner X, Morbius</strong>, and more.

</div>
<div>This week, Vita's apartment building caught fire when the building next door burned down, and their unit was heavily damaged. Vita and their family will likely be displaced from their home for at least a month while the damage from both the fire itself and the water from firefighting efforts is cleaned up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thankfully there are things like insurance in play, but as anyone who has ever had to evacuate knows - it's beyond expensive and stressful. In addition to having to front the costs of lodging, you're replacing groceries, clothing, electronics, personal effects destroyed or rendered unusable, and hours/days of work that Vita will have to put off while they focus on their family and rebuilding.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those of us who know Vita know that they're community-focused to their core, it's one of their deepest values. It's an honor for us to be able to come forward and support them and their family after this sudden crisis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you again for your help!
