Support Village Kids Read: Najiba Memorial Library

Donation protected
Najiba Bahar, who was born and raised in Daikundi province, graduated from high school in the province, a rural and mostly undeveloped part of the country.

With the encouragement of her family, Najiba finished her bachelor's degree in India in 2008, and then her master's degree in Japan in 2016. Her specialization was Information Systems.

After graduating from university with an IT degree, she started working at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in Kabul. Najiba planned to contribute to Afghanistan’s advancement to an electronic Government.

Najiba was killed 10 months after the completion of her higher education by a suicide attack in Kabul. The Najiba Foundation, including a library, was established as a memorial initiative for Najiba.

The Najiba Foundation is located in Nili City, Daikundi Province. The Foundation’s aims:

1. Promoting education at the local level against terrorism and corruption
2. Promoting the culture of reading and debate
3. Keeping the memories of Najiba alive and
4. Documenting the cost of war by remembering the sacrifices of so many others.

Our main activities are:

1. Resource center with a library
2. Educational programs
3. Scholarship
4. Memory box

To equip the library with computers, new books, and buy other necessary equipment, we seek your contributions to the Najiba Foundation.

In order to ensure transparency and accountability, all expenses will be publicly reported through our website or other reporting mechanisms.
