Support Veteran John A. White

Friday June 30, 2017 I passed John as he was walking to his home. He had just come from the bank down the street where he also had taken a fall while walking through the lobby. Not one person at the bank offered to give him a ride even when he asked so graciously. It was about 90 plus degrees outside that day and I could tell he was struggling to walk with his walker so I stopped to ask if he needed a ride home. Since then he continually tells me "it's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me." The rest is history. I've gotten to know John A. White on personal level over the past few days and I will forever be grateful that God is using me to help Mr. John. I feel he is now and will always be a life long friend. Here is a little back story about John.
John is a Veteran of the Air Force, he served from 1954-1960 until he was injured and forced to withdraw. He has a PhD in Physics, and was a Professor at Oklahoma University and retired from the University of North Texas between the years of 1998-1999. He bought the house he currently resides in for him and his late wife who passed April 2016. They were married for 50 years. He has 2 daughters. John loves Science and talks with me about how much he misses working on scientific projects. John has expressed to me that all this attention is new to him. He's never been in the position of needing help until recently. This all seems to have all come on within the last year after losing his wife. One thing that makes him happy is talking about his life and sharing all the cool scientific projects and research he has been apart of. Also, he enjoys going to the Assisted Living Home and visiting with friends while having lunch.
At the current moment, John has no running Air Conditioner unit and the temp inside his home reaches a good 90+ during the day. He has a few plumbing issues in one bathroom, a rotting floor where the refrigerator used to be and a car that needs some work. Also, he needs help cleaning up the inside of the house. At the moment John has no way of transporting himself to and from the places he needs to go. Therefor, he calls an Uber or takes a the bus if he needs to go somewhere or walks.
My goal for this GoFundMe is to raise enough money to fix these small but big problems in his home. I've talked with him about his family and he's made it very clear that he misses them and would like to go visit his daughters, but they dont have the means to get him there nor does he have the money for a plane ticket. I'd like to send him to see his daugters and grandchildern. He needs his family at 80 years young. Please help me make all of these things happen for our local Veteran John White.
P.S. John has a roomate but his roomate is older and his car is broke down, as well. He rides his bike to work and wherever he needs to go.
