At 12:01 a.m. on April 27, the members of United Steelworkers Local 5 at Marathon Petroleum's renewable fuels refinery in Martinez, CA, made the difficult but necessary decision to go on strike. We are standing together for fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect on the job—not just for ourselves, but for every worker who deserves dignity in the workplace.

Striking means sacrifice. While we fight for a fair contract, our paychecks have stopped, but our bills and responsibilities have not. That’s why we’re reaching out to our community, friends, and allies to ask for your financial support. Your contribution will help us keep food on the table for our families, cover essential living expenses during the strike, and maintain a strong, united presence on the picket line.

Every dollar and every word of encouragement strengthens our resolve. Together, we can show Marathon—and corporations everywhere—that workers united will not be ignored. Thank you for standing with us in solidarity.

 In unity and strength,

United Steelworkers Local 5 Martinez, CA
