At 12:01 a.m. on April 27, the members of United Steelworkers Local 5 at Marathon Petroleum's renewable fuels refinery in Martinez, CA, made the difficult but necessary decision to go on strike. We are standing together for fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect on the job—not just for ourselves, but for every worker who deserves dignity in the workplace. 
 
 
 Striking means sacrifice. While we fight for a fair contract, our paychecks have stopped, but our bills and responsibilities have not.
